One person reportedly died on Wednesday afternoon after warring family members clashed on a farmland in Ile-Ife.
It was learnt that members of the family had been at loggerhead for over two years over who inherits the farmland.
It was gathered that one of the aggrieved family members invited other members to the farm for settlement but had laid an ambush for them by arming himself with a gun.
When he sighted them, he reportedly fired gunshots at them.
One person reportedly died while the other sustained bullet wounds.
The issue caused tension when the corpse of the victim and others that sustained bullet wounds was carried to a hospital in the community.
Many residents fled as speculations rented the community that it may be as a result of communal clash.
Spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, said the Commissioner of Police had deployed operatives to restore peace in the area.
A prominent Chief, Lowa Adimula of Ife, Adekola Adeyeye, told reporters it was not a clash between Hausa and Yoruba residents but among some members of a family.
