Just In: Veteran actress, Orisabunmi dies at 60

A veteran actress Folake Aremu fondly called Orisabunmi is dead.

She was born on October 10, 1960, and left the world on Tuesday, 5th of January, 2021 at the age of 60 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Mr Bolaji Amusan popularly known as Mr Latin, has confirmed that the talented actress died on Tuesday.

“She died last night, ” he said mournfully.

Recall that the actress who hailed from Ilu Ola in Kwara State came into acting in the 80s mostly appearing in her late former husband’s Chief Jimoh Aliu’s drama series on TV such as Arelu, and Yanponyanrin among others.

Combining beauty and artistic excellence in Yoruba film genre, she acted mostly as the spiritual balance of good intervention in works featuring other evil characters such as Fadeyi Oloro.

Apart from late Jimoh Aliu’s works, Orisabunmi featured in a countless number of other Yoruba films.

She equally produced her works such as Atupa Imole, Ase Ilu and Tani o.
