NFF announces new date of Nigeria Women Premier League commencement

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the board of Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) have declared December 9, 2020 has the commencement of its 2020-21 season.

The announcement for the return of Women’s football is followed by the meeting held with 16 club representatives at its secretariat in Abuja.

Faith Ben-Anuge, the Chief Operating Officer of the NWFL, revealed that a return to a straight league format for the first time since 2014 after the 2019/20 season scrapping due to Covid-19 will take place.

The NWFL board and also Nigeria Football Federation board member, Aisha Falode, read the riot act to the clubs and disclosed its plans in the build-up to the league’s commencement.
