Widow begs Nigerians, Govt to save her 15-year-old boy shot by police during #EndSARS protest in Ogbomoso (VERY SAD, Must-read)

The fear to lose 15-year-old, Lekan Adejumo was written on the face of a widow, Mrs Lekan Adejumo whose son was shut in Ogbomoso, Oyo State during the #EndSARS protest.

The Widow, Mrs Adejumo thereby cried for help from Nigerians and the government for financial assistance to save her son who has been on admission at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.

When POINT OUT visited the hospital where the son was admitted, the Widow lamented that exhausted her savings and no longer has money to buy drugs for the treatment of the boy.

Narrating the unfortunate incident to our correspondent (FEMI TAIWO), Mrs Adejumo said, “Lekan was shot by the police on his way to church on a fateful day.

“My son, Lekan is still on admission since 16 days ago when the incident happened.

“I beg the Oyo State Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Mr Sunday Dare, and other Nigerians to come to her aid to save the boy’s life.

“My son was shot by the police following the crisis that trailed the killing of Isiaka Jimoh in the town during the #EndSARS protest in the town on Saturday, October 10.

She said, “My son was going to church when the police shot him. Those who saw it when he was shot told me that when Lekan saw that there was a crisis on the way, he turned back to take another route but before he could take some steps, he was hit by a bullet.

“The bullet hit his arm and came out and hit his stomach. Everybody ran away and left him there. One of his brother’s friends, Sodiq, heard that Lekan was shot and he went there to help him, he was also shot.

“Both of them were brought to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso. Lekan was operated upon and the bullet was removed. Those of us whose children were brought to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital were not fortunate to see Governor Makinde when he visited Ogbomoso. He went to Bowen University Teaching Hospital but I think he does not know that some were admitted here.

”Lekan’s father died some years back and now I taking care of him here, I cannot do any work. We have been paying for drugs and other bills and there is nobody to help. I am calling on Governor Seyi Makinde, the minister, and anybody that can help to help me.

“I can’t even buy drugs again because there is no money. I heard that the governor promised to pay hospital bills of those injured, I am appealing to him to help me.”
