Breaking: Lagos State Government Considers Indefinite Closure Of All Schools

Stella Chima, Lagos

The Lagos State Government has directed all students in public and private schools in the state to stay at home following the tension generated by the #EndSARS protests.

The Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, who issued the order, said, the safety of the students, parents and all staff working in schools is sacrosanct at this critical period of time.

Folashade, however, advised parents to stay focus on their wards and not to allow the children be used as bad tools by people who might want to hijack the protests to unleash mayhem on the society.

The Commissioner also encouraged schools to utilise other means of distance teaching and learning such as radio, television and online media as they have been doing during the post COVID-19 lockdown.

According to Adefisayo, a new date of resumption for all classes will be communicated as soon as possible.
