Motivational: EVERYTHING COUNTS – Oluwatosin Fadiran

Once, I was opportune to be on my dad’s cocoa plantation farm during harvest. Whenever one or two seeds of the collected cocoa plant drops and I just ignore and walk pass it, my dad will always say to me, “Pick it up, every single seed from the harvest matter”.

Those times, I never took it so serious as I felt losing just one to two seeds at a time from the harvest doesn’t reduce the weight and value of the produce. It took me a while to realize that every single seeds which dropped and I abandoned really matters because each of those seeds makes up the entire harvest.

So is Life! Every underestimated efforts of a man in life costs so dearly. What makes a successful man are those very little combinations and accumulations of efforts and inputs.

That very little business you run right now counts. That very little skill you are learning or planning to start learning counts. That trade or course you see as not relevant really do count. Every little effort you are making now counts on whatever your tomorrow holds.

It is better to light a very small candle than to curse the darkness, just do something! It is better to keep those little efforts rolling than to sit, do nothing and keep complaining.

Remember the words of Martin Luther King which reads “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward”.

Don’t stop moving, Everything Counts!
